The very first book!
Did you know that the very first book I ever wrote was with my husband? And it wasn’t even about kindness? Here is a throwback to a past blog post about our very first book!
We wrote a Children’s Book!
Writing a book (of any genre) has always held a top spot on my bucket list! So when the opportunity fell into place, I didn’t hesitate to jump in with the simple hope that I could somehow get away with blending my parenting with my design work. (After all, I'm all about efficiency!) Even if it turned out to be more of a fun side project than an income stream, I wanted my daughter to be a part of it — to learn how to express her creative side and be confident to chase her dreams in the future!
What better way to incorporate this by writing a book just for her! So on the morning of my 30th Birthday, Ben and I sat down to do just that! Move Like Me - Around The Farm is an interactive storybook that promotes physical activity for young children.
As a former personal trainer, I know all too well how important daily movement is for our overall health. Madelyn is just about two years old. (Three now!) She is learning fast and beginning to mimic almost everything that I do. A real eye-opener when it comes to health, and one of the main reasons that we have committed to finding more ways to purposely move throughout our day with better habits. All in the hope to set a better example for our daughter so that she will continue to stay active and reap all of the benefits that come along with it! (We are BIG fans of making fitness fun for everyone!)
Move Like Me - Around The Farm is written for kids aged one through six, however, can be enjoyed by all members of the family to play together! (We have videos to prove it!)
The very best part about accomplishing this goal was getting to do it alongside my husband, with our daughter being the ultimate inspiration behind it. (I love anything that can be done together as a family!) What started out as a checkmark on my bucket list has now completely shifted my career in a new direction! Unfortunately our first book never really took off like the following one did, but will always remain our all time family favourite!
